TC Script to the Rescue

Over the last two weeks, the nation has watched as winter weather and frigid temperatures have decimated the Southern US, especially the state of Texas. Millions of citizens, already reeling from the effects of the pandemic, were forced to do everything in their power to weather the storm and secure basic everyday needs. The snow, ice, and bitter cold also delayed the federal government’s delivery of vaccines to various states, as well as special courier shipments and Mission Critical Delivery Solutions.

Patients at Risk During Winter Weather

Sam Webster, Clinical Pharmacist at TC Script, was contacted last week by a patient’s father in Plano, Texas after his son’s drug froze in the snow. Webster learned that the drug was placed in the snow due to a power outage in the area, and the patient’s father had been denied all refill shipment requests, understandably putting him in a panic.

Webster quickly reached out to the Plano Children’s Medical Center outpatient pharmacy, which had the drug on hand. He arranged for a five-day supply to be immediately dispensed to the patient and scheduled a replacement shipment to be delivered by FedEx once regular service resumed.
